The 5D Sustainability Swap Box is a curated collection of everyday office essentials; each carefully chosen for its positive environmental and social impact.
Sustainability doesn’t have to be complicated or costly.
So, we wanted to capture this in the small stuff, the office everyday items, that might have more impact than you think.
We thought we would pinpoint 5 products that help any office improve its impact, that were awesome, and essential. We landed on:
In order to find products to fit our needs, we have developed a Product Performance Certificate (PPC) rating to capture companies’ sustainability impact, from their environmental and social impact, to how they govern themselves.

Even these Swaps are not perfect, and their companies are still working on themselves to be better companies and products. However, they are companies that are genuinely committed to responsible business and conveniently are all B Corps, as well as their product-specific certifications.
Our PPC rating system looks at 12 key areas that reflect how socially and environmentally responsible a company is.
We wanted to cover everything from emissions and packaging to labour practices and community involvement.
As a first step, we’ve prioritised transparency: companies that openly share information about their practices score higher, while those with little or no public information receive lower marks.
To keep things simple, we’ve converted our scores into an easy A–D scale, so anyone can quickly see how products compare. Our initial results show that the products in our box rate much higher than typical office alternatives.
This is just the beginning. We’re committed to refining and improving our framework, with the aim of making it more rigorous, practical, and user-friendly as we continue developing straightforward swaps any business can make to be more responsible, ethical, and sustainable.
